The wooden tram that connects Sóller to the port is one of Mallorca’s great classics.
The route passes through part of the valley and offers views of the citrus groves before reaching the coast. Yes, it’s touristy. And yes, it still has plenty of charm.

One of the great advantages of visiting Sóller is everything that’s nearby. If you have a car, you can turn your visit to the town into a full-fledged tour of the Sierra de Tramuntana.
Having a rental car at the Mallorca Airport lets you combine a visit to Sóller with other towns, scenic viewpoints, and natural areas without having to rely on public transportation.
Fornalutx and Biniaraix
Fornalutx is located very close to Sóller and is one of the most popular attractions in the area. Its cobblestone streets, stone facades, and mountainous surroundings make it one of those towns where you just want to put away your map and simply wander around.
You can also visit Biniaraix, a small town located at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains and known, among other things, as the gateway to the Barranc de Biniaraix.
Sa Calobra and the Pareis Stream
If you enjoy driving on mountain roads, you can continue on to Sa Calobra.
The drive is almost as famous as the destination itself, especially for the road’s curves and the well-known Nus de Sa Corbata. Once you reach the bottom, you can visit the Torrent de Pareis and enjoy one of Mallorca’s most breathtaking natural landscapes.
